Products that fall under the scope of this program must demonstrate compliance with the relevant technical regulations and specifications before they can be legally sold in Bahrain.
Why Product Conformity in Bahrain is Essential
Navigating the Bahrain PCA process is a critical step for manufacturers and exporters seeking to enter this key GCC market. By adhering to these regulations, businesses not only fulfill legal requirements but also build a reputation for quality and safety. The process often involves a detailed assessment of a product's technical documentation, testing, and, in some cases, pre-shipment inspection to ensure conformity. Miqyass offers professional consultation to guide you through every step, from preparing the necessary documentation to coordinating pre-shipment inspections with our global partners. Europe Region
Shaping Europe’s Standards for Safety, Quality, and Energy Efficiency.
(CE-Mark) European Conformity

CE-Mark European Conformity is a mandatory certification mark for a wide range of products sold within the European Economic Area (EEA). The mark, which stands for Conformité Européenne, signifies that a product has been assessed by the manufacturer and meets all applicable EU health, safety, and environmental protection requirements. It is a crucial gateway that allows products to be freely traded and sold throughout the EEA without the need for additional national certifications.
The Importance of the CE-Mark
For businesses, the CE-Mark is a powerful "trade passport" that streamlines access to a market of over 500 million consumers. It not only fulfills legal requirements but also serves as a strong indicator of product integrity and quality, which builds confidence among consumers, retailers, and other stakeholders. By ensuring your products are CE-Mark compliant, you can avoid significant regulatory barriers and enhance your brand's reputation for safety and reliability in a global marketplace.
Why CE-Mark is Crucial for Exports from KSA to Europe
For manufacturers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, obtaining the CE-Mark is an essential step for exporting products to Europe. It demonstrates that your products meet the strict safety and quality standards of the EU, allowing them to be legally sold in all EEA countries. This certification is a global sign of compliance that boosts credibility and competitiveness. Miqyass handles every step of this complex process, ensuring your products are fully compliant and ready for seamless market access.
CE-Mark in Saudi Arabia's Mega Projects
Within Saudi Arabia, the CE-Mark is not always a national requirement, but it is frequently requested or accepted by authorities for certain high-risk products, particularly in mega-projects like those under Vision 2030. The Saudi Food & Drug Authority (SFDA) and other government bodies may require or prefer CE-Marked products as a guarantee of international safety and performance standards, especially for medical devices, machinery, and electrical equipment. By having the CE-Mark, products can gain quicker approval and entry into these prestigious projects, demonstrating a commitment to world-class safety and quality.
ErP

The Ecodesign Directive (ErP) and the Energy Labelling Directive (ELD) are two distinct but interconnected European Union regulations designed to improve the environmental performance and energy efficiency of products. The Ecodesign Directive sets mandatory minimum performance and environmental requirements that products must meet before they can be sold in the EU. This pushes manufacturers to design more sustainable products, taking into account their entire lifecycle from production to disposal. The Energy Labelling Directive, on the other hand, requires that these products carry a clear, standardized label that provides consumers with a visual rating of the product's energy efficiency, typically on a scale from A+++ (most efficient) to G (least efficient).
The Importance of ErP and Energy Labeling
For businesses, complying with ErP and Energy Labeling regulations is a prerequisite for legal access to the vast European market. These regulations are a key part of the EU's commitment to climate targets and resource conservation. Products that do not meet the Ecodesign requirements are not eligible for a CE-Mark and cannot be sold in the EU.
The Relation Between KSA and European ErP Regulations
While the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia does not directly adopt the European ErP label, it has its own comprehensive and mandatory Energy Efficiency Labeling (EEL) program, overseen by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) and the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC). This program functions similarly to the European system, using a star-rating system to inform consumers about the energy consumption of appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines. Both the European and Saudi systems share a common goal: to reduce energy consumption, protect the environment, and provide consumers with transparent information to make informed purchasing decisions. For companies operating in both markets, compliance with both sets of regulations is essential for legal product placement.
Miqyass will assist you in navigating these complex regulations by providing expert consultation, and working with our partners to ensure that your products meet all the necessary technical and environmental standards. We will help you understand the Ecodesign requirements for your specific product and prepare the necessary documentation for labeling. By partnering with Miqyass, you can be confident that your products are compliant, competitive, and ready for entry into the European and other key global markets.

BIS Bureau of Indian Standards

BIS Certification is a mandatory process for products to be sold in India, ensuring they comply with the safety and quality standards established by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). This certification serves as a third-party guarantee of a product's reliability and quality, which is crucial for building consumer trust and legally entering the Indian market. BIS operates several schemes, including the ISI Mark for domestic manufacturers and the Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme (FMCS) for foreign manufacturers who wish to export to India. Products must undergo rigorous testing in BIS-recognized laboratories to be certified.
Why BIS Certification is Essential for Exports from KSA to India
For Saudi businesses, particularly those exporting gypsum products to India, BIS certification is not just a commercial advantage—it's a mandatory regulatory requirement. India's government has issued Quality Control Orders (QCOs) that make BIS certification compulsory for gypsum-based building materials, ensuring all products used in the country's construction sector meet prescribed quality and safety norms.
The trade relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and India is strong and growing, with India being a major destination for Saudi gypsum exports. While there is no specific mutual recognition agreement on standards, the fact that BIS certification is a legal prerequisite for market entry makes compliance essential for seamless trade. Miqyass specializes in guiding businesses through this process, from identifying the correct Indian Standard (IS) to coordinating product testing and factory inspections with our partners. By partnering with Miqyass, you can ensure your products meet all the requirements for successful entry into the highly competitive Indian market.
CCC China Compulsory Certification

The China Compulsory Certification (CCC) is a mandatory safety and quality mark required for a wide range of products imported, sold, or used in the Chinese market. It is China's national conformity assessment system, designed to protect public health, safety, and the environment. This certification is a prerequisite for legal market access and applies to both Chinese-manufactured and foreign-imported goods, including everything from electrical wires and appliances to automotive parts and toys. Products that are not CCC certified may be detained at the border and are subject to other penalties. The process involves product testing at accredited laboratories in China and a mandatory factory inspection. Miqyass manages this complex process for our clients.
Why CCC is Important for Your Business
For any business, especially those from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, looking to export to China, obtaining CCC certification is essential. The certification is a legal requirement that demonstrates your product's compliance with China's strict Guobiao (GB) standards. It is a testament to product safety and quality, which builds credibility and trust with Chinese consumers and regulators.
KSA-China Trade Relation
The relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and China is a significant and growing trade partnership. China is a major destination for Saudi exports, particularly in the energy sector, but with Vision 2030, there is a growing push for diversification into other sectors. For Saudi companies looking to export non-oil products to China, such as electrical and electronic goods, automotive parts, and other consumer products, CCC certification is a fundamental step. Without it, your products cannot enter the market. Miqyass works closely with our global network of partners to provide comprehensive guidance and support, ensuring your products meet all the necessary requirements for a seamless and successful entry into the Chinese market.
